West Byfleet Recreation Ground – council minutes released

During the recent executive council meeting that took on the 28th June 2018, West Byfleet Recreation Ground was discussed as a matter of urgent business and during this discussion reference was made to a confidential item of business discussed at a WBC meeting on 2nd February 2017. We have subsequently been provided with a copy of those minutes.

The Forum will discuss this further at their next committee meeting on the 11/07/18

16.​EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC
RESOLVED

That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of items 17 to 21 in view of the nature of the proceedings that, if members of the press and public were present during these items, there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A, to the Local Government Act 1972.

Paragraph 3 – Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

19.​LAND MANAGEMENT – WEST BYFLEET RECREATION GROUND​EXE16-111
RESOLVED

That​(i)​subject to Planning Consent being obtained by the developer, the sale of land at West Byfleet Recreation Ground to enable the development of improved recreational facilities be authorised on terms to be determined by the Deputy Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, that will secure for the Council the Open Market Value of the site for the proposed purpose or the full costs of developing the new facilities for the Council, whichever is the greater;

​(ii)​the Council’s intention to dispose of the land at West Byfleet Recreation Ground be advertised under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972; and

​(iii)​the Deputy Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, be authorised to consider any objections received as a result of the advertisements under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972.

Reason:​To enable improvements at West Byfleet Recreation Ground.
