Dear Mr. Sadan,
West Byfleet Recreation Ground
Your organisation has a very strong reputation for Environment Social Governance and I am writing to seek your help on behalf of my community.
It involves Marston’s PLC a company in which, according to Bloomberg, the Legal & General Group is a significant shareholder.
I enclose copies of correspondence between us about the issue.
Is it possible for you to persuade Marston’s to be a good corporate citizen and drop their proposal to build a pub in our recreation ground?
Their proposal is upsetting the local residents, particularly the mothers with children at the adjacent schools.
Woking Borough Council have informed us that they are unable to stop the sale of land to Marston’s because they are bound by the terms of a contract.
I would be happy for you to share this request with equivalent departments at other asset management firms. Yours is the first one I have approached.
Kind Regards,
Wade Pollard,
Chairman
